Bright Meteor

A bright meteor exploded over northern Sonora Mexico the other morning (20 June 2026, 11:06:08 UTC) as seen from one of my Global Meteor Network cameras (located southeastern Arizona USA):

Definitely a Hole

Sometimes it's obvious that it's a hole in the center.  Why and how are these formed?  TBD I hope.

Dark Spots in Lunar Craters

I see an unusual number of these: dark spots right in the center of craters.  This one is typical:

from LRO dataset M1502023137RC.

Pixels in this image are about 1 meter in size, which makes the crater wall about 30 meters in diameter, with the dark spot in the middle about 10 meters in diameter.
